Otherworld North East are a non-profit paranormal phenomena research group specialising in recording the physical phenomena often associated with alleged ghosts and hauntings. Diagnostic Evaluations

Diagnostic Evaluations are the first stage of Otherworld North East investigations into alleged hauntings. A typical evaluation will include:

  1. A site visit to talk to the owner/manager of the venue;
  2. Collation of any previous investigation reports relating to the venue (if any are available);
  3. Collation of any relevant media (photographs, video etc) relating to the venue (if any are available);
  4. The collation of a historical profile of the venue and its relationship with the Historic and Geological Environment;
  5. Interviews (where possible) with people who have experienced the alleged haunting;
  6. Data Collection Exercise (temperature, humidity, sound, light);
  7. Media Collection Exercise (video, night-vision video, photography, sound recording);
  8. Analysis of results;
  9. Dissemination of written report and potential DVD.
  10. A site visit to talk to the owner/manager of the venue.

Typical equipment to be used on an evaluation includes...

30m wireless CCTV system, 30m wireless boundary microphones, temperature/humidity USB data loggers, user-calibrated non-contact temperature guns, calibrated ambient temperature readers, 4-in-1 environmental meters (light, temperature, humidity and sound), standalone MIN/MAX temperature and humidity readers, radio frequency detectors, air-speed meters, Hi-Lo Freqency sound enhancers, tape/digital dictaphones/mp3 player/recorders, 2G EMF meters, Sapphire EMF Meter, Cellsensor EMF meters, Gauss meters, tripods, trigger objects including dice, coins, pens, nails and screws, keys, crucifixes (for those religious venues), periodic pottery sherds (from Roman through to modern), digital cameras and a variety of hand-held or tripod based camcorders, 25m camcorder AV cable.
