Q: Are you covered by insurance?
A: All field activities of the team are covered by Paranormal Investigator Public Liability Insurance from Blackfriars Insurance.
Q: Do you use spiritual techniques such as mediums, dowsing and ouija boards on investigations?
A: No, we use environmental data collection methods backed by historical research.
Q: Do you charge for investigations?
A: No, we do not.
Q: Do OWNE perform house ‘cleansings’?
A: No, we do not.
Q: Can I join OWNE on an investigation?
A: Investigation places are currently restricted to Investigation Team members and occasional places for
Society members.
Q: How do I join the Investigation Team?
A: To become a member of the team, you must first join the Society. After 3 investigations as a Society member, you will be eligible to apply for application to the team.
Q: Do OWNE actively seek publicity?
A: No we do not. The venue under investigation must actively require publicity for us to even consider it.
Q: Are OWNE available for talks and events?
A: We will consider joining in events and talks, but it is on an individual basis and depends on the whys and wherefors.
Q: Why do OWNE not do private house investigations?
A: Despite being covered by our insurance for such investigations, the Committee feels that the liability risk is too great, along with the psychological responsibiity such an undertaking inevitably brings.
Q: What happened to the forums?
A: The forums operated in one form or another from 2003 up to early 2011, but due to the lack of interaction by members, the forums were deleted and this more informative website, complete with articles and investigator blogs was set up.






The case of the Little Girl of the Angel View Inn began in mid-2004, when Otherworld North East founder Tony Liddell was researching material for the book Otherworld North East: Ghosts and Hauntings Explored (published by Newcastle City Libraries in October 2004). At the time of initial contact with the Inn’s owner, the Angel View Inn formerly the Old Barn at Eighton Banks, Tyne and Wear (overlooking the Angel of the North) seemed to be suffering repetitive symptoms many associate with a haunting, with witnesses including staff, the Inn’s owner and more importantly from the Inn’s business side of things, customers.
